Anne-Marie Duff was born in London in the United Kingdom. She is an English actress. Following her graduation in Drama Centre London Duff made television appearances on Trial & Retribution Amongst Women as well as Aristocrats in the mid 1990s. She became famous for playing Fiona Gallagher in the first two seasons of the UK television show Shameless. The Virgin Queen (2006) was her subsequent character. The actress also appeared as Queen Elizabeth I and the lead character on From Darkness, a television show in 2015. Duff has had roles in films like Enigma (2001) The Magdalene Sisters Notes on a Scandal (2006) French Film (2008) The Last Station and Nowhere Boy Before I Go to Sleep (2014) and Suffragette (2015). She was nominated for BAFTA awards in Best Actress, Best Supporting Actress, and Best Actress in Shameless The Virgin Queen. In addition to that she received the BAFTA Cymru Award in Best Actress in 2007 for her performance in the TV film The History of Mr Polly. Anne-Marie Duff excels as an English award-winning actress. Her work has seen her appear on theatre, radio and television with equal aplomb. Her role as a mainstream star was Fiona Gallagher in the British comedy-drama television series Shameless as well as Queen Elizabeth I on the mini-series of television The Virgin Queen. Anne-Marie has been performing for over 20 years on stage and has many performances with The Royal National Theatre, is an actress with a lot of experience.
